PROJECT OVERVIEW
This set of sofas represents my personal connection to and journey with the piano. Playing the piano brings me healing and comfort, much like how sinking into a soft sofa provides relaxation. The four sofas symbolize a complete song, Call Me by Your Name.
Models
The initial clay models were cast in the shape of my hands as I pressed the keys with different chords. I then combined two models, which brings me to the final shape.
Sketch
For the sketch, I simplified each shape to make them easier to construct with bamboo. I also decided to add an internal skeleton to mimic the human skeleton.
